Ishtar

classic anime attacks

Crescent Beam

In this attack, energy from the gem of her tiara gathers and forms into two back-to-back crescent moons at the end of her right index finger and is then released, at will, as either a single beam or multiple beams. This attack first appears in Episode 33: The Last Sailor Warrior, Venus Comes. This is the technique Venus uses to free Sailor Moon and the others when they were trapped in Kunzite's Dark Magic Dome.

Venus Love-me Chain

Venus Love-Me Chain

This attack is a chain of golden hearts which Venus uses as a whip. Heart-shaped lights gather around her body and then seem to solidfy into gold when Venus releases the chain with a wave of her right hand (which is interestingly enough, forming the sign language for love - middle and ring finger down). After release, Venus is often seen either holding the chain with one or both hands and directing it to either swing at or entrap enemies. When the attack is used as a piercing or burst attack, Venus only needs to direct the attack with a point of her finger. This particular attack is Venus's most versatile and can wrap itself around anything and pick up anything it esnares. Venus also uses this attack as a lifeline preventing herself and Pluto from falling into a ravine. Some Japanese Sailor Moon fan books have noted this attack as being extremely accurate and only bested by Venus's Love and Beauty Shock and Mars' Flame Sniper (However, I cannot find the original sources so don't quote me on that one :P). This attack first appears in Episode 65: Dispute Over Love! Minako and Makoto's confrontation. in which Karaberas and Petz comments on the uselessness of love which angers both Makoto and Minako and causes them to awaken to their new power.

Venus Crescent Beam Shower

Venus Crescent Beam Shower

This technique is very similar to her Crescent Beam attack, but instead of directing the attack at an target the beam is released into the sky where it rapidly multiplies before raining down onto its target. Venus rarely uses this attack and throughout the whole series she only uses this attack twice. It seems Venus is only able to summon this attack when she is extremely angry. Crescent Beam Shower makes its first appearance in Episode 52: Targeted Children! Venus in Action, where she was determined to protect elementary children from the monster who have been kidnapping them. The second time is in Episode 141: Stormy love! Minako's big two timing project. She becomes livid after finding out that her two new boyfriends (Tiger-Eye and Hawk-Eye in disguise) were only dating her because of a bet they made on who would be able to capture her dream mirror first.

Venus Love and Beauty Shock

Venus Love and Beauty Shock

In this attack, energy gathers onto her lips and with a kiss of her left palm the energy becomes a golden heart. She then waves her hand across her hips which causes the heart to multiply and makes a ring of hearts around her. The hearts then consolidate into one and directs itself at the enemy. This attack makes its first appearance in Episode 154: Nightmare Garden - Confrontation in Dreams! Minako and Makoto's Broken Friendship .

Special Move: Love Me Moon Chain!

A move that only makes an appearance in Episode 102: The stolen pure heart. Usagi is in trouble!. Disguised as Sailor Moon, Sailor Venus does a "Moon" rendition of her Love-Me Chain attack.

Manga Attacks

Venus Love-me Chain

Venus Love-Me Chain

In the manga, the Love-Me Chain is an actual physical weapon. In the beginning, the chain is often seen wrapped loosely around Venus's hips like a chain belt. The chain is made out of round golden links which are each decorated with a red gem in the center. Like in the Anime, she uses the chain like a whip, but it is unknown whether she can use the chain to lift objects.

Rolling Heart Vibration

In this attack, Venus forms a golden heart in between her hands and spins it before releasing it. Venus first uses this attack shortly after joining the Sailor team. Rolling Heart Vibration never makes an appearance in the classic anime series, but does show up in the Live Action (Pretty Guardian Soldier Sailor Moon) and several video games.

Venus Chain Wink Sword

Venus Chain Wink Sword

This is an attack that Venus gains after a power-up to her first planet transformation. It is similar to her Love-Me Chain, but instead her sword is attached to it. The attack instantly slashes its enemies to pieces.

Venus Love and Beauty Shock

The Manga attack is very different from its classic Anime counterpart. In the manga, this attack is basically an upgrade of her Love-Me Chain attack. The chain has become longer and instead of a chain with red gems the gems have become blooming roses. The attack seems to be overflowing with power and harder to control. With the help of Artemis, Venus gains this attack after awakening to her 1st Crystal transformation form.

Venus Love and Galactica Shock

Venus Love and Galactica Shock

This atttack is basically the evil version of Venus Love and Beauty Shock. The blooming roses are replaced by mini-black holes. It only appears once in the manga series when a mind-controlled Venus uses it against Sailor Moon.

Aku Ryo Tai San

During the Special Exam Chapter, Venus uses Mars's Aku Ryo Tai San to exorcise the homoerotic demon, Barbara S., from a possessed Rei. After regaining consciousness, Rei is less than pleased that Minako had used her magic without her approval.
